i am going to a music festival this weekend in the middle of the forest. i forgot to pick up more memory cards. i have about 12gb right now but I am pretty confident that this will not be enough (I shoot in RAW only). Buying cards locally is expensive...
Sandisk Extreme IV is $150
Sandisk Extreme III is $109
both are way overpriced.
Anyone have any suggestions?
There will be no power outlets where I will be and I do not want to bring my laptop. i am already bringing all of my camera gear and it will take all I have to be lugging that around all day.

If you don't want to buy more cards because of the expense, I sure buying a portable storage unit is out of the question, and if you don't want to take your laptop, I don't know what you could expect in the way of suggestions. In my opinion the only alternative you have is to shoot Jpeg.

LOL, i'm trying to figure out what you were expecting. let me see if i have this correctly.
--you only shoot in raw
--you can't buy anything (so no memory cards, no off-loading hard-drive device)
--you're not bringing a laptop
--you're in the middle of nowhere.
hmm, ok how about you make your signficant other bring a laptop :).
but seriously, you can't keep an old laptop in the trunk of the car to offload to?

another thing you can do is to choose your shots and not just snap away. also, you can go over all the shots on your LCD at the end of the day and get rid of all the crap (i know that the LCD is not the best for judging sharpness but trust me, a crappy shot would look like crap even on the camera LCD)

buy the extra cards - if you open and use then and cannot return them - sell them after the event.
Are the extra images worth the difference in your cost of the cards less the sale amount?
IMPO - there is no excuse for not having enough memory.

I did not say I can't buy more cards. I certainly can afford them but they are so much more expensive locally. I wanted to see if anyone could think of another alternative...that's all.
I bucked up and bought more cards.

Radio Shack has 2GB SanDisc Ultra II SD cards for $20 each. I took the ad, this past Monday (printed off the net), to Staples, who has a 110% match program and got 3 of them for $19 each

take the laptop and a DC charge cord for it.. Fill the cards download them to the laptop then lock it in the trunk Or go to walmart and get a plug in power converter and work from the optional plug in in your auto.

No power outlets? Are they playing all acoustic instruments? I'm sure there will be power there for food vendors, etc, somewhere you could plug in.
As to overpriced cards (and I see you already got them) you give prices aboove but don't say what size card those prices coincide with. May not be that expensive at all.
