It's a new yawk city subway token.

It says Mexican United States. And the currency is in dollars, not Pesos. So I doubt it's a real currency coin. :)

it is $1 Nuevo Peso....as the old devaluated so bad that they reissued money dubbed the Nuevo Peso.

It actually reads the United Mexican States. ;)

That coin is used very much like the quarter is here in the US.

You mean the USA isn't the ONLY country in the world that uses $ to signify money!?!?!? :shock:
