C&C if you like.

I got my new lens today for an anniversary present! Yeah me! We took the kids out tonight for the maiden voyage of my husband's homemade boat made of tin. My son was too scared to go in it, but my daughter had a great time.
Please C&C

AWESOME! This lens definitely has a learning curve.. I borrowed a friend's last weekend and had LOTs of throw-aways... I'm so used to being up close and personal and this lens... you need at least 4 feet...

Looks like you did perfectly with your first time out! :) Congratulations!

I celebrated when I got mine. It's a nice piece of work, isn't it? I was really nervous when I felt the box, but once that baby was on my 5D, it felt like a magic wand that chose it's master, and it was me! Congrats and your shots are great for first time out. Now really get some moving objects going and you'll see the value of this lens.

Congrats on the new lens. Getting new equipment is always fun but when it's something like that it's really exciting. The images are excellent, good color, good contrast. The lens continues to live up to its reputation.

You got a spankinh new 70-200 2.8 IS, and your husband got a cramped tin can boat? Sounds like you got a fair deal! LOL!

Take your time to get to know 'him' / 'her' (LOL) and likes and dislikes. It's a really nice lens. Mine was being neglected in the drycab too much so off to a better home it went. I miss it sometimes though. sniff sniff

Congratulations! You'll love it more in time. I don't know how I took a picture before March! lol Once you get used to the weight of it your other lenses will feel super light, that is, if your other lenses get any mount time!

Now you can pester him for the 1.4x and get Really close! :)

You got some really nice shots there right off, looking forward to see what some experience with it does for ya.

Happy shooting! And Happy Anniversary!

Thanks

Gee thanks! I did a little work in aperture...adjusted the color but I didn't touch the sharpening.

Fantastic! You're going to grow to love this lens. I know it's my favourite. AND you get the extra benefit of developing forearms like Popeye from holding it all day! :-D
