Got a 300D . Looking at buying another CF card other than the one i have . I have the Lexmar 512mg , 4X . Same with my battery . Couple yrs ago i bought a BP512 1500 mah to replace my BP511 1100 mah . Seems now neither hold a charge long enough to even fill my 512mg CF card . Any suggestions and either or both CF card and batteries ? Thanks for any input

Hi Ron;

Replacement batteries and CF Cards are available by the thousand off the great WWW...

A simple Google search for "Canon 300D battery" returns hits for as little as $14 (but I'd probably be a little suspect about that price...). I have found that "non-Canon" batteries are just as good, and much cheaper than Canon branded batteries...

On the CF card front, it's the same... CF cards are available in all sizes up to 8Gb... If you're only usisng a single 512Mb card, I guess you don't shoot much, or shoot Large or RAW images... I used to use 4 x 1Gb cards with my 300D, and have now moved up to 4 x 4Gb cards shooting RAW...

However, on the card front, I don't take chances with cheap cards; personally I always use SanDisk and have found them to be error free... But, even these are now way cheaper than when I bought mine! A quick search shows a 4Gb card for $50 and a 1Gb for less than $20!

Good luck;

Cheers;

Lee

Thanks for the info Lee . No i don't shoot that much and i very seldom shoot RAW . I use to shoot RAW with astrophotography but i found out that i can take jpeg and still get good images without having tons of software to take out noise and edit them . I use PS7 and PSE 2.0 . I'm still old fashion and have an older computer with only 30gig HDD so i don't have alot of room for storage of large files :( . Found this place (http://www.flash-memory-store.com/1gb-compact-flash.html) for the card and this place (http://sterlingtek.com/twocabp18bap.html) for batteries . Think these are ok ? Thanks again for your help !

SterlingTek is the best place for aftermarket batteries. For memory, I use NewEgg, and the Ridata brand of cf cards.
