pretty cool, i dont quite get how you take pics of fireworks, does the autofocus work, or you just gotta be quick with the manual and hope it comes out?

Uber Easy -

Put the camera on a tripod, manual focus at infinity, manual exposure at widest apeture, and choose any exposure time from a tenth on up to a second or two. I perfer lower ISO as that will underexpose (and hence darken) the smoke cloud from the previous detonation.

Then just sit there with your finger on the remote (Reduces camera shake - Yes, that occurs EVEN on a tripod when you actually press the button.) and when you see one launched ....GO!

I did use manual focus (adjusting it through the viewfinder) and tried apertures between f8 to f16. You can see the exif info in the share forum here :

That is a very nice shot! The colours and the balance of fireworks is spot on.

But since I spotted the power lines I haven't been able to see the picture without them :(
