Has anyone got a Canon EF 35-350mm f3.5-5.6 L USM or had any experience with it?
I'm looking at getting one when I buy a 300D - to use for sports photography. Would welcome some feedback before I commit to the purchase...

I don't have it, but for some reviews you can look HERE (http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=15&sort=7&thecat=27).

I've rented one a couple times. It's a very nice lens, though a bit on the heavy side. You might not want to carry it around all day. Personally, I think I prefer the 100-400 just a little more.

Basically, I'm after a lens to do good quality sports photography.
The two primary sports of concern are Cricket:

...and Australian Rules Football:

I'm looking for a lens (or lenses) which will do a great job at these kind of live sports matches.
Advice?

To start with, if cricket is your main subject, you are going to struggle in Oz  but given the sport itself requires good light, it should be fast enough. The size of cricket grounds varies enormously though (well they do in England) - have u thought about 70-200 f4 and 1.4 TC?

Might look at the Sigma 50-500. My best buy.
