I gotta say...taking snapshots of these little guys has made me appretiate how easy we got it -- compared to the 'grim' reality they're living in. :S

It certainly is a scary world out there...
Don't know if it's just me, but these shots seem to have a strong yellow cast. Spider shot looks good (my pick of the 3) and all look sharp on my work monitor.

dreamline- Thanks for the feedback. The sun was setting at the time and everything had that 'yellowish' shine at the time of shooting... I think that may be the reason for the strong yellow cast. Also I'm still in early experimenting stage using my 24EX with the 50mm reversed on 100mm -- finding it difficult to get sufficient light. I was actually holding one of the flashes with my hand at the end of the lense.

well with all that you had to do to get these pictures they look very nice. I think that the yellow in the first two add to the pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Superb... I'd love to get one of those carniverous plants. I'm pretty sure I'd kill it though, knowing my gardening skills...

Fantastic shots. I don't mind the yellow, I think it adds to the mood. The spider shot is just amazing. Love how the lighting brings out so much detail.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys!
I agree, I could of changed the yellowish tone in photoshop -- but I thought it suited the dark 'gloomy' feel that the reality is, for those poor insects.
The spider one is also my favourite -- looks great as my new desktop wallpaper :D
