I'm mulling over the possibility of starting a lens rental business in the UK (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=353608). Obviously insurance is something I'd need to budget for. I'd be grateful if UK-based POTN members could let me know:
- who insures their equipment
- what does it cost (per £1000 or whatever)
- what you think of the company.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Photoguard, but the value depends on the amount largly on how much you cover. But mine is around £40 per £1000 insured, however, this is a standard policy, you may may a totally different business insurance. Speak to a broker or the companies directly.

I've never had an problems with Photoguard but at the end of the day they are an insurance company

Was with photoguard but now with photoshield, changed as I needed indemnity, liability and gear insurance all as one poilcy where as photoguard now has sister company called indemnityguard you have to go through. Overall I would say photoshields policies seem more professional of the two.
