Hello All,
I'm a new 300D owner and have been reading the forum and have now struck up the courage to become a member.
I've only been interested in photography for the last 12 months or so and started out with a Sony DSCS85 on a 10 month tour of Europe, I found the Sony limiting so moved up to a 300V. After missing the instant feedback but still enjoying the creativity of an SLR I made the decision to get the 300D and am loving the experience.
I've enjoyed reading the objective posts and so far have gained a lot and look forward to contributing as time goes on.

Paul, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. Now that you've purchased the camera get ready for all the accessories. There are so many things to get now. Oh how I long for the days before I became an "L"coholic. It was a much simpler time when I had money. Now I live from one lens to the next. Welcome to the world of photography.

Thanks for the duck info, I'd better start finetuning my duckshooting skills.. well, with a camera anyway ! :)
By the way, Arumdevil, how do you find the 75-300 III ? Sad to say it's started already but I'm looking for a zoom up to 300mm in the budget end of the market. I was looking at the 55-200 4.5-5.6, 90-300 4.5-5.6 USM and the 75-300 III or one of the plethora of Sigma or Tamron offerings but the possible incompatibility issues has put me off them. It would be nice to be able to spend the money on a 70-200 L but that's just not in the equation at the moment.
