Very nice series, our eagles are on vacation in Alaska, interesting to see in thisi plummage.:)

These birds stay all year long, but this one is hanging around the nest tree. I'm sure the Adults are still around also. I'm going to spend a few Mornings to see what is happening. This was just a scouting visit.

Great environmental shots. I've never seen one so dark. Hopefully he/she will beat the odds and be one of the 50% that does survive their first year.

I think She may have already made the 50% as her Nest maye didn't make it.

The 50% is those that survive their first winter. Many young eagles starve because they don't develop good enough hunting skills to find enough food when the weather gets cold. Although if she's an Alabama girl, maybe it won't be as difficult come wintertime!

We don't have "Cold" like that would take and the river is always full of Shad.

BEAUTIFUL!! I want to take a photo of a Bald Eagle so bad, I looked and looked on our last vacation, but no luck finding one. All of your eagle photos are outstanding!!!
