Well, I kinda stumbled into this; I was told that I was going to be working with a 'pro' who had shot a lot of weddings, so I wasn't concerned about walking in somewhat blindly to the situation, and I was more than adequately equipped... that surprise was when the 'pro' (ie a cousin of the bride) showed up more than an hour late equipped with an oldish film rebel + kit lens (that being, something like a 35-80 f/4.5-5.6) and a cybershot. While I would be the first to say a talented photographer can make great images with any gear, there was simply no way that he was producing high quality images with his setup in those conditions.
... anyway, I felt like I just needed to do my best to produce my own images, so I subtly shot as though there wasn't another shooter ;). Anyway, enough story and time for the pictures.

The last shot is funny and silly. I assuming this bride is silly which is a good representation of that. In the kiss shot, I really wish the pastors double chin wasn't between their bodies but what can you do about that? Maybe put soft focus around them and between them or something? I don't know. It just really distracted me in a bad way. (just my tatse). I bet the bride will be happy to have these pics!

It looks like you rose to the occasion. :)
Was the wedding in Greencastle? I've been passing through there quite a bit lately on my way to and from Indy.

It was actually in Ft. Wayne-- Groom's hometown. Both, however, are DePauw grads (that being how I got involved). The number of DePauw people at the wedding was pretty funny, really, it was probably 1/2 of the people in attendence.
G-castle's quite the happening town in the summers, I'd imagine :D. US231 does lend it an air of bustle, but it's all passing through!

Wow, you were pretty far from home for that one! I usually only get as close as I-70, although I've been through there on 231 a couple of times for ball games this summer.
Wherever it was, you did a nice job under adverse conditions. :)

Pretty good for a first wedding. You're about 6 feet tall right? Bend down, shoot from the subject's chest height.

Nice shots for a first wedding. I like the second one, because you see how much fun they are having, and I also like first dance shot. It has a nice warm feel to it.
