View Full Version : What to charge & what info do I need to obtain?

I've been researching this forum for hours so I wouldn't have to post a "what to charge" but I've been unable to get the specifics that I need. Here's the info I have:

A hotel is interested in 4 to 5 of my shots to use for a website and a brochure that will have around 10,000 in circulation.

I'm looking for insight as to what questions I still need to ask to develop a fair quote. Let me know if these are appropiate questions and what else you would ask:

Website -- I assume I'll need to find out what size resolution or size on the page. Duration of usage (is "forever" industry standard?). Perhaps web hits?

Brochure -- Since I have the circulation do all I really need now is size on the page?

If you have any pricing opinions please share them as well. Any and all help (hand holding ) is greatly appreciated!

Chris

After reading all night I'm going to compose an email asking him to detail the following:

Size on webpage
Size in brochure (including placement)
Duration of usage

Anything else?

Thanks,
Chris

I've downloaded the demo. I'm a little embarresed to say that I really don't have the $ to purchase it at this time...just got married and had a baby.

I've come across a few sites that breakdown prices with circ., placement, size, duration, etc.

I was wondering if there were any other details I needed to get from them.

I know what you mean, its not cheap enough to say "hey what the hell" but not TOO expensive to say "wow, no way"

But if you think that youll be getting the gigs to HAVE to use it, then its definitely a consideration.

Ive used the hell out of it since I got it.

Good luck with whatever you find:)

I like it a lot, it has all of the forms you need, model releases, contracts....all of the fields in the Invoices and Assignments/Estimates are exactly the fields that a photographer needs in an invoice or an estimate..

Test drive the demo, youll enjoy it
