I need help, this picture looks dull how can i jazz it up??

Well the setting it nothing special IMHO. Just an ordinary ditch. The lighting isn't very good as you can see the hot sunspots shining through the trees.

You might select a different subject area. This scene is clutter with undergrowth and appears to have no water flowing. A stagnant ditch. I really don't see a good composition here and it doesn't follow the rule of thirds. Keep shooting.

I'd have to agree with RedHot. Although, I think you're trying to find something interesting but the stagnant ditch doesn't do anything for me either.

As for 'Jazzing it up', I don't think there's anything you're going to be able to do to jazz it up other than finding a better subject.

I actually think this could be a very interesting thing to photograph and then convert to B&W. You have a lot of good elements to work with. What you need to do first is take a day and study the light and figure out what time of day is most flattering to it. You also need to take it from different angles. The posted one is from to high an angle, try getting in the creek/stream and shooting towards and just above #1. #2 looks like it could be a shot in itself, try going up to it and finding a good angle to it. #3 Would also make a good shot if you get low and shoot a tight shot of the water coming between the rocks using a slow shutter speed. Now as for shooting this you need to take a tripod or bean bag to steady your camera. You also need to lower your ISO to 100, this shot looks pretty noisy. Don't use flash. Try shooting in aperature mode using different aperatures, or if you are comfortable with manual, meter the greenery. Good luck and keep an eye open for the "what it could look like."
