First Engagement Shots, Honest C&C Please

I was asked by a friend to take some pictures of her daughter and future son in law, they have just got engaged... so i guess its a engagement shoot. They were a great couple and we had a good laugh doing them.

I would appreciate some honest C & C's on these images, Its the first time i've actually been asked to do this so I didn't charge, but i said if they like them it would be only fair if they paid for the prints/originals... which i thought was pretty fair.

Black and White is thier prefered style. All shots pretty much right out of the box taken in RAW and some converted to B/W. No.7 has had a little touch-up... only about 30 sec's but i should have taken longer but it was just to see if it worked...

I know there not exactly cutting edge stuff but be honest with your C & C... i ain't gonna learn anything from you guy's else...!

I think your shots are very good. #1, 3, 4 are quite good because I like to see the sparkle in the eyes. You captured that very well. The lighting on the ring shot could be better, though. Needs a closer crop, maybe.

Much better. I love the shine on the ring and the b&w gets rid of everything behind.

I'm sure the other wedding photographers are shooting this weekend. Most of the time, they are on and very helpful. Keep posting.

I think these look very good! they should be very pleased! I think 4 is my favorite! They both look very relaxed and happy.

Thanks for posting, Kathy. I felt this sinking void in the wedding forum this weekend. I've been answering questions like crazy and you guys are all out there shooting while I'm getting ready for my son's wedding next week. I hope more people come on to say something. :)

I think this is a really nice set and you have great B&W conversions. The only thing that I noticed is that the girl is always looking at the camera, even when her fiance is looking at her...maybe have a few shots where they are both looking at one another.

Thanks for the reply's. I was tempted to do a selective colour on the ring but to be honest there not really my thing but i thought it may work on that shot because it would be quite subtile.

I did take a whole load more in an attempt to cater for differnent peoples tastes.
