Probably the same storm that rolled through here earlier. Lots of thunder but I didn't see any lightning. Nice Capture.

Yes, this is the right half of the frame. I notices lightning striking this area over the hillside several times, and I just pointed in the direction. :D

Wow, great capture. I love lightning pictures. The leaves on the right look a little odd though...would have expected them to have that swaying look to them, here it looks like a double exposure on that side.

I've only been able to catch lightning on film (not on digital yet) a couple of times, and didn't get anything very dramatic.
How do you do it? The ones I got were at night, and there was lightning pretty frequently. I set the timer, pointed in the general direction of most of the strikes, and pushed the button. Since it was night, the shutter stayed open 20 -30 seconds, and a couple of times there were strikes while it was open. It seems there must be a better way... I know my reflexes aren't quick enough to catch it otherwise!

I noticed that this area on the other side of the mountain was getting frequent strikes (has 3 or so in the past few minutes). I pointed my camera in that direction and opened the shutter. after about 30 seconds two strikes had happened. :D
This was my first time doing lightning too. :D
