That section gets swamped very quickly and a lot of great pictures disappear before a lot of people get to see them.

I like the composition but , personally, I think the DOF is too tight in this instance. Just a wee bit more to complete her but leave the background as-is would, in my opinion, have really made a great picture better.

so for tight photos like this one I should shoot at f/4-5.6?

Both eyes need to be in focus in my opinion, unless the extreme shallow DOF is what your after, but that doesn't flick my switch. Lovely model, do more!

haha I'll let you know when my next shoot is, she told me she can shoot every day if I wanted too.

I agree, I didn't know how shallow f/2.8 was until I shot this pic.

I don't really mind the shallow DOF. I don't find it too disturbing. In fact, I think it's kind of a novel approach while using that particular classical pose.

I do like the classic pose used here. I like the crop. I like the post processing especially the eyes. They remind me of the result from using the channel-mixer routine. Well done.

Is it just me, or does she look like Paula Abdul?

I love the pose the composition and I don't mind the shallow depth of focus either. Perhaps airbrush the hot spots on her nose and cheek to darken them a little. Her eyes look a little too bright hazel and the whites might be just a bit too white. Did you lighten them in processing?

i think the eyes are WAY overdone. i like the fact that you brightened/oversharpened the eyes to draw the viewers attention to that, but maybe bring down the opacity for those layers a bit to make it more believable.
