thanks very much Space, Guitarboy , Yiskah , Sandy , Coolershaka , Suzie, JDrizzle and Jay
everyone was glad to have the sun on their faces for a few minutes. between heavy showers
the wide river flows in front of where they are sitting
looked beautiful with all the flowers hanging from the lamp posts behind them
coffee or tea refreshments can be bought just there in a small hut or on the main street in the city which is just a few yards away ( O'Connell Street, one of the widest streets in Europe) with all kinds of stores and where the famous G.P.O stands proud
:)
I'm not sure who Father Jack is Coolershaka
is he the other priest with Father Ted (TV comedy)

I visited Dublin for the first time a few months ago, and fell in love with it immediately. Such a beautiful city (especially the views of the Liffey and St. Patrick's Cathedral and St. Stephen's Green).
PS: Father Jack Hackett is the one in Father Ted who is either asleep or drunk and swearing randomly. The kind of priest you want!;-)

Well caught! I thought I recognised the Liffey walkway.
Nothing like an afternoon snooze, especially when its not raining for once.....

thanks for the information about Father Ted Coolershaka . I think the person you mention died suddenly of a heart attack in London (in real life) . he used have a Sat. morning radio programme which was very funny but it was taken off air as it hit at politics too much I think
really glad you liked the city and enjoyed your visit
Eugene thanks, you'll know that area well then
and thanks Kenny and Frank
the man was enjoying the break

Love this shot, candid photos of everyday people are great, and I know I've been that snoozer a few lunch hours.

Next to a trash can is not the best place to fall asleep with your head thrown back and your mouth open. :)
Nice candid shot. :)

I was amazed he could sleep so sound there. the noise of the heavy traffic behind him as well
nice that he got the rest though. reminded me a little of my dad when he used have a nap after lunch. not too unlike him either
he's a long time dead though (1972) also, he worked close to this spot
when I was a child he would bring me into the building, up a few flights of stairs and show me how electrical flashing city sign lights were set up. it was amazing to see how it was done (at that time)
few minutes later
just thought I'd show how the man is not too unlike my dad
mam died 10 years earlier then him
this is them with my two older sisters and brother
there were three more children to follow
two more brothers. me being last to arrive
long time ago all this
:)
