Three images of birds in flight.
These birds move so fast I was lucky to just get them in the frame.
In any case...........here they are for critique.

Love the first shot! Nice colors on the bird against a nice blue cloudy sky. Great pictures 8)

These look great..
It takes a lot of practice.. and gulls are perfect target practice!
You've done a very good job of it.

Very nice! I'd crop just a bit from the left on the first one, so the bird is flying 'into' the pic.

Nice! I like the first for the colors but I love the 3rd for the sharpness of the eye!!

Thanks guys!!!
Frank - I'll try that crop as soon as I get a chance.
Eventhough they were a pain........I actually enjoyed the chase after a while. I really can't wait to go back to the beach with my camera again.
Till next time :-)

Great shots!
I didn't realize how hard it was to capture gulls until I tried it the other day with the same lens (unsuccessfully). Do you need that fast a shutter speed (1/2000s), or was that governed by your choice of aperture?

Unfortunately with the Rebel, you don't have a choice of using a full time AI-servo unless you're in sports mode............so thats what I did. So....you can't pick your aperture and shutter speed..........you're forced to use ISO 400 and the fastest shutter speed the camera can muster.
Another hint.............make sure to switch the distance focus on your 70-200 f4L from 1.2-infinity to 3-infinity :-)
