Recover deleted images

I deleted some very important images using Zoombrowser (attempting to delete one and deleted
entire folder). I have windows recovery software, and it "recovers" the jpg files, but now I can't open them with any imaging software. I get an invalid format message. Does any one know what happens when zoombrowser "deletes" and if there are any methods, tools to help me get around this problem? Suggestions on programs that might allow me to open the recovered jpegs?

Sorry to hear that.

Some recovery programs recover only sectors from hard disk and can not build them to files. If you have used that disk between delete and recovery it might be difficult to undelete anything anyways. What was the software you used? I think your best chance is to contact the software in question and ask them why the recovered files are not complete.

A quick point have you checked out the recycle bin, if you haven't set it up to empty when you shut down they may still be in there.
