Hi guys and girls,

I've just had my website built (just a basic site as $$$ are tight).

I'd love to hear some feedback on the site itself and also the photos in the galleries please.

Good or bad, please just let me have it. I'm looking for all sorts of comments and critiques.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to look and comment.

Site is: www.mbkphotography.com.au (http://www.mbkphotography.com.au)

Cheers.

I'ld get rid of the film reel and add some sort of way for the gallery photos to be viewed easier. Clicking on one and having to close out the window in order to see another one probably won't get many people looking. Try simpleviewer out. Check out one of my galleries to see it...

You've got some good photos though!

I concur with Bobby on all points. It has potential. :)

And Bobby, I love what you've done with the site. I'm upgrading my Allwebco template ASAP, as I like the ease of use.

Thank you both for your comments and critiques.

I can understand what you mean about the gallery pic's, I'll have a look at simpleviewer, thanks.

How hard would it be to incorporate simpleviewer into my existing site?? I'm no web guru at all, I paid to have my site done and i'm afraid i'm just not up to speed with the building process for web sites and all that goes with it.

Anyone else care to comment/critique??

I'm getting ready to do it, so I'll let you know if it's difficult. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get a working slide show for my home page. I'm ready to just chuck it and upgrade my template now.

Good luck with your's liza. Please do let me know how you go with it as I like the simpleviewer style of things.

It took me a little while to figure out simpleviewer. I used Picassa (read about it and download it at simpleviewers page). Then in your public html folder, create a new folder (i.e. weddings). Within that folder upload all of your files when you make the gallery using picasa. Just make sure you make two additional folders for the thumbs and regular size images within this folder (weddings or whatever). It's really easy now that I know how to do it.

Hope that helps ;)

Brenno, I think thats a great start for a website, layout is nice and simple, easy to navigate and will work well with most resolutions, as other people have mentioned I think ditching the film graphic would be a decent idea plus when your at normal resolutions (1024 x 768 is still the most common) and have a sidebar it cuts into the film graphic anyway and makes it look real bad.

Regards simpleviewer I think its a nice gallery system to use but you have to integrate it properly into your pages, with all due respect to Bobby Earle I dont think his sites a good example of how this should be done at the moment, every page should have your navigation on it rather than just having a single page with simpleviewer on its own on it ... you would be amazed at how many people still dont know how to go back a page unless theres navigation there for them.
