View Full Version : ND Filter On Powershot S1 IS -- Possible?

I recently purchased an S1 IS and, for the most part, am very happy with it.

I would like to connect a neutral density filter to it so I can take some mid-day long exposures (waterfalls, etc).

Does the LAH-DC10 Lens Adapter / Hood Set allow this to be done? If so, what filter size is required? If not, are there any 3rd-party products that would allow an ND filter to be attached?

Also, I'm assuming that no filter threads at all on the converters (WC-DC52A and TC-DC52B) except for the ones used to connect them to the LAH-DC10. Is this correct? If so, could a person attach the ND filter to the LAH-DC10 and then connect the converter to the outer threads on the filter?

Thanks very much!

Earl

the adaptor takes 52MM filters. I am using several different ones with the adaptor.

I would guess that the filter between the adaptor and the extra lens would work OK. I have done that with my Oly c-3040 and a Oly TCON14, since the TCON only has threads to screw into adaptor/filter.
