I am not sure if this is the right place for this, but...
I thought I was a pretty good photographer until I found this site! I enjoy it, and about half of what we have on our walls is our own photography, but I have to guess that some of you here are professionals, or at least could be.
Of the thousands of photos my wife and I have taken, maybe 20 or 30 are what I would call worthy of enlargement and framing.
Unfortunately, we both learned photography in a not-so-artsy way. We were both private investigators who did work mostly for insurance companies, so we had to do a lot of macro photography of little marks on vehicles - sometimes to determine if the two vehicles actually made contact, sometimes to see if impact absorbers were compressed, etc.
We have recently met a couple who are both into photography and know far more than we do about the artistic end. It works out well because they are new to the area, we know the cool places around Las Vegas, and they can teach us how to photograph them!
I'm looking forward to learning a lot here, it seems there is a wealth of information to be gleaned. I'm sorry I won't be able to contribute much other than questions for a while, though!
