Anyone on here with any experience in producing and selling post cards?
Some of the local tourist shops have been asking me if I have done this or would do it. I am not into this as a business so I really have no idea what it would take to do post cards...
Any ideas, thoughts, guidance, should it be avoided, where to print them if its worth it...any experience would be appreciated before I pursue this much further....LOL

Overnight prints in California does a nice job...but postcards need to be sold in bunches to make it even worth your while...
If you're only selling 100 of each image you're looking at 50cents a piece which doesn't allow for you to make anything much...of course at 1000 of each image you're only paying about 18cents a card and if you can get the shops to buy them for .75 each than you might be alright if you do an order of 20 different postcards 1000 of each one!
essentially you have to have a large volume of guaranteed upfront sales to make it worth your while.

I get Vistaprint to make em for free for me, 100 postcards with my design front and back for just the postage costs! About 5p each then!

yeah but their quality is junk - at least here - too flimsy to ever send through the mail and something I would ever attach my name to.

So if the store buys them for 0.75 cents how much do they sell them for?

well that depends on what they can get away with...they can sell them for 1.50 to 2.00 per but that is getting up there in price...it all depends on your ability to make many sales in advance to be able to give both of you (the supplier and the photographer) the proper margins to be happy...
