Lighting looks a little flat. And Ultrawide angle lenses are a no-no for portraits. Makes your head look huge. I like the colors though. Very Nikon.

Tim...I have to be honest...

1) The subject is too centered.
2) I think you need to pay a little more attention to your background. It looks like the sun is coming out of his head.
3) You have blown highlights in his shirt.
4) The over all picture looks a little over processed.
5) I think you could have picked a better shot. This is not flattering to the subject.
6) Over all decent work. Please keep at it.

Sorry...if I am over critical. I just tell it like it is....

It was an aussie wine, strangely enough, I usually drink New Zealand wine.

Tim I'm not sure if the angle is right for this photograph. perhaps you should consider a crop and straighten for this one.

Unfortunately I shot it like this with a close crop so I can't rotate it. You wouldn't believe the gymnastics I had to do to get myself hanging at that angle and keep the smile on my face.
