Three from Goblin Valley State Park in Utah. Quite an interesting place. They filmed part of the 1999 Tim Allen movie "Galaxy Quest" here. Comments & feedback welcome. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful! We'll have to add that to the list of places in UT we want to see. What part of UT? The others are Canyonlands, Arches, and Brice (or is it Bryce?) Canyon. We've been to Zion a few times.

Thanks! It's in southern Utah, off rt 24, south of rt 70. Or about 120 miles from Canyonlands, 60 miles from Capitol Reef. It is Bryce, with a "Y". ;)

My wife and I love the desert, and Utah has some spectacular rock formations. I was at Bryce when I was a teenager (longer ago than I care to admit), and my wife and I have been to Zion, but we have a lot of Utah to explore. Fortunately, it's driving distance for us.
We also went to Park City on a company retreat and did a hike to Stewart (or Stewart's?) Falls. That was beautiful, but there were a lot of people.

Beautiful shots. Goblin Valley is great fun. The shapes that Mother Nature creates are amazing.
DesertDweller - Did you mean you went to Sundance? That's where Stewart Falls is. And that's a beautiful place also, if you go up the cirque (just above the falls) from Stewart Falls just a bit, there is usually a Moose or two hanging out.

I love the first two! Third is great too, but doesn't have the surreal feeling of the formation in the first ones.

The first one is my favorite. I need to get to Utah.

Fantastic shots. I really like the first one.

The third isn't actually part of Goblin Valley. That is Temple Mountain if I recall correctly. Just outside Goblin Valley, part of the San Rafeal Swell (one of Utah's best kept secrets).

I agree with eesparx, I need to get to Utah;) Missing a lot of shot opportunities I think:mad: The first one is definitely a portfolio shot. Nice shooting!

Thanks everyone! Yes, you all need to get to Utah. ;)
Tom, you are right, that third shot is down a dirt road off of the main road to the park. Incidentally, I believe that road takes you to Little Wild Horse Canyon, which I didn't have time to visit. :(

Goblin Valley is a fun place, an easy visit going from Torrey to Moab. Little Wildhorse is a great slot, we only did a short hike up it but a lot fun.
I like #1 the best, looks like you caught the Sun right. I was there mid day and didn't get those colors.
