View Full Version : The topic is "Red" - which crop works best.

Shutterbug mag is running a contest and the topic is "Red".

They ask that that be an "Out of Camera" red, not manipulated. When I read that, I immediately thought of this. I worked on it, removing the blue horizontal, removing the microphone, replacing the mic on the other side.

When all was said and done - I think I like the composition best out of camera. That leaves the crop. I like the idea of the square crop - mostly because square is very hard to do, and I think that the shot lends itself to it.

But on the other hand, I worry that the square crops get rid of too much context.

Any preference?

Do be different, I prefer the 4x6 aspect, but with the keyboard on the right level.

Either that, or remove the KB altogether and rotate the guy a bit more and go square.
