Ok, so I made a picture of a waterfall for a friend of mine and she loved it so much she want's to get it blown up to put on her wall, something in the 20 x 30 area. I have never done this and obviously my canon printer doesn't print that big. Anyone have any reccomendations on places that can do this for me and how it is done? how do I get the image file to them?
Again I am completely new at this so sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks in advance.

If you want a frame at 20x30, then you might want a print at 16x24. Those are easier to come by.

I've been thrilled with the results from http://www.jumbogiant.com
I've had many 20x30 and larger prints done there, and they've never let me down.

Also try www.MPIX.com. They are the consumer division of a rather large lab that professionals use.

Does anyone know of a canadian company/site that offers the same services as the two sites mentioned here?

Um, did you click on the link?
The price is displayed fairly prominently on JumboGiant's homepage -- $34.

while on this topic, is it better to re-size the photo first and send it in or let the lab have the original and let them resize. Just wondering what to do on odd sizes like 11x14

if you want say a 10x8 print would you send the original RAW file or a full size jpeg conversion?

No lab I know will accept Raw files & it would be a disaster if they did, its down to you to process the raw's first & usually submit the pics in jpeg, some will accept tiff.

theres a place online, elco (elcolor?) that does printing special for posters, 9.95 for a 20x30 and has gotten incredible reviews. I just can't remember the actual url at the moment.

I havent used them yet but found them from a review in the "Digital Photo" magazine, it rated them the best & the test shots looked good.
