Since they're starting from size 27mm, I was wondering (hoping:oops:) if they're possibly meant for compact digitals and don't need threads in the end of lens to use. Local shops that list the product on their website, don't have them in stock and people working there weren't... informed:rolleyes:

So, 49mm size filter seems to fit perfectly with my S2's lens but I'm not sure if "Digital" filters are threaded like regular type or if maybe they fit over the lens same way as the lens cap for example? Does anyone know?

Even the 27mm filters seem to be threaded in the normal way. I'd be worried about the filter (which is much heavier than a lens cap, and less flexible) coming away from the camera if it was just push fitted.

There are adapters you can get for your S2 IS that allow you to use threaded filters - see here (http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/S2.html) for an example with pictures.

They're threaded; "Digital" refers to how they treat the glass, not the mount. You'll still need an adapter to provide the threads.

Ah, nuts..
Thanks for replys, guys! I guess I now have to figure out if I really do need filters bad enough to order the adapter from lensmate..
