I am looking for some software for my MAC that will keep track of my finances as well as help me with taxes. It would be nice if it could help me pay bills too but not necessary. I have heard of quicken... is that a good one? Anyone have any other software titles?

Greetings Nightscape,
Yes, Quicken is a financial software. It is geared more for personal use. If you are looking for something to use for your small business, check out QuickBooks. It's from the same software company as Quicken.
Check out this link: http://quickbooks.intuit.com/product/accounting_software/pro_mac_financial_management_software.jhtml
Hope this helps.
Peace,
Yanis :D

I use quicken.... I can do most of what I need to do other then real aging reports and print invoices. Other then that, for simple booking for April 15th purposes, it does the job. And yes, I use the Mac version. Cheers.

Agree. If available for the mac, quickbooks. Easy, intuitive, supported. I assume it's still the leading app for small businesses. /Dan

thanks, quickbooks looks like a nice program.
Is it worth putting it on my PC too? is the Create sales orders & custom price levels and
Accept credit card payments in QuickBooks worthwhile?

As an accountant, I hate quickbooks it allows for too many ways of inputing the same transaction. So if the client does not know what they are doing, they can really screw things up.
That being said....QB's is by far the number 1 used accounting software for small business. If you looking for something just to manage a small operation, Quicken may be a better choice. Both are made by Intuit. If you are a Microsoft groupie, there version of Quicken is Money and it does a good job or they also have an accounting software as well (called Small Business Accounting, I think).
Intuit has something called the Quickbooks Advisors network, they are people (typically accountants) who specialize in quickbooks to help get you set up and offer training and such. You should be able to find that on their web-site.
The best advice....take your time in setting it up, if you do it wrong, it will cost you in the long run.
