Nice light in the second shot, the candle half in and half out of the shot is a little distracting apart from that and the plug socket it's good. Your expoure time is very slow in these, tell me you rested your camera on something and didn't hand hold these shots?

A tripod is an excellent investment. I don't use mine that much when bug-hunting, as I like to stay mobile, but it is extremely useful for other wildlife and landscape shots.

I must say, if you did hand-hold these, I'm impressed. At those shutter speeds, camera shake is almost inevitable.

i have an ixus 70 :S not much control over shutter speed there :(
i can only choose from certain Fstops that will be available as im taking the shot and shutter speed is only handled by the shooting mode , these were macro mode so not a fast shutter speed..... and if i use like (kids and pets mode) that will have i think 1/300 which is hard since it will use flash :(
