Hi everyone.

I have a very old SIGMA UC Zoom 70-210mm lens that I had been using with an old Canon reflex film camera. I recently purchased a Powershot S3 IS and had been told that I can add external lenses on top of the existing one using a special adapter. my question is, is this old lens of mine suitable for use with my new camera? I think it's an AF lens.

Thanks a lot,
Jeni.

No, it's not. The lens you have will mount on (and might work with; but early Sigma lenses and newer Canon SLRs don't get along well; search for "Sigma Err99" for more) an EOS camera body, but the S3IS doesn't have interchangeable lenses. The external lenses for it are sort of like filters - they screw on in front of the lens (via an adapter in the case of the S3). Sorry.
