I'm looking to get into architecture photography. (I refer to it as real estate photography) I will also be doing panoramas and I heard that a fisheye is best for them.

So I'm looking at the Canon 10-22mm for architecture + panoramas. But then again could I make a great panorama with just regular 10 versus a fisheye?

Or perhaps I should just rent a fisheye and the 10-22 and test both! But if there's an architecture photographer here somewhere that has any suggestions please send them my way!

Thank you!

Hi Ursula,
I'm a real estate photographer in Sydney, Aus. For lenses, you need a wide angle is necessary, obviously. I personally use a Sigma 10-20 EX for most of my work, the fish eyes seem to create to much distortion, and you really need the ability to shift the zoom to meet different rooms/situations requirements. Mind you, 70% of the time I have it opened all the way to get in as much as possible. The Canon 10-22 is a great lens, its just not compatible with my 10d. My next major purchase is a new body, I've spent quite enough on lenses for the time being. Any more questions, just ask...

Thank you! I'll look into the Sigma - it seems there's not a huge price difference between the Canon 10-22mm vs. the Sigma 10-20mm.

I'll send you a pm! :D
