Well, this is just a thought...I am looking for more advertising/ sales for my nature photography. The local coffee shop has a different artist each month display their work. I've done it twice the past two years and made quite a few sales. It got me thinking...what do you think about this:

Contacting local businesses (I live in a small town near a small city- not sure if I'd do it in person with my 'book', e-mail with link to site or via snail mail) and asking if I could hang a photo or two in their office(s) and also have my card near/at the photo(s).

Any thoughts? Anyone ever try this?
Thanks!

The photos would definetely fly if they dont clash with the decor of the business. The business cards though, that might be a little bit of a challenge.

Sure, this is just a sideways version of postcard sales.

I've done this at Real Estate offices where I put the artwork in the breakroom on the wall just over the table and my business cards on the table, underneath the images. Fast sales and new freelance contacts. No compaints.

Decorating the Break Room/Coffee Room is an easy way to infiltrate an office filled with prospect clients...;) Change the images out every couple weeks, just to keep everything fresh.
