Just out of curiosity, how long do those of you who shoot weddings spend at the computer editing before sending in(or via cable modem)your data to have hard copies printed. This question is for photographers who use proofs(4x5 or 4x6). It seems as if I spend at least 10 hours on a wedding with 200-250 proofs(400 taken) or previews. I sharpen, color correct crop and sometimes remove simple distractions. I also convert some to b&W and colorize a few B&W's. I'd like to hear from others. I've tried auto batching things and that does not work for high quality proofs. Thanks to all.

I never shot weddings, but i did shoot a stage play. With 400+ photos(they are all in RAW format), i spent 8 hours+ only to go thru them with minor tweaks, i didn't use autopatch because during the play, lights changed very frequently, so colour temprature varies a lot.

dunno if it helps, but one thing for sure, after all that, my eyes were killing me

Depending on the length of coverage of a wedding, I may shoot 400 to 1000 images. Therefore, I would spend anywere from 2 to 4 days post processing. I am more finicky than most and I try to get the most out of every image.

I tweak each photo by itself, and don't keep track of my time since I load the weddings pricing higher than my average shoots. I've learned to go for the $$ shots and shoot like it's film and the ohters is just extra.
