Hi All,
Having just bought a digital camera (Canon Ixus 'i') and been pleased with the quality of the photos, I was inspired to create a website and publish some of the better ones. I'm now trying to take more interesting and artistic photos, and move away from the plain old holiday snaps which I've taken previously with film. I've selected 3 which I quite like and would welcome any comments. My liking for them is I think more to do with content rather than any skill on my part. At this stage I'm just pointing & clicking! Any good advice for a photography newbie welcomed. Man with cow taken in Uganda, other two in Dorset, England. The site is www.DigitalNature.co.uk if you want to take a look. Thanks.

Nice shots for the most part. I like #2 the most of the three...interesting shot, good composition. That being said, I think #1 had the potential to be a truly excellent photo... If you had taken it at a lower angle and included more of the fisherman's face/expression, I think this would have been a wonderful shot.

Good job nonetheless and keep posting!

Thanks - I hadn't thought of taking #1 at a different angle. I guess I need to get out of the "holiday snaps" mode (ie. stand bolt upright, put content in centre of frame etc.)

Welcome, it looks like you are off to a good start. I like the composition of the flowers. With the building I would like to see more of the left side but I am not sure if you had that option.
