I noticed most photographers I've met do not have any images on their business cards. Is there a particular reason for that?

My wife was talking to me about that the other day since I am getting a few clients now and my business cards are basically white card stock with information on them (professionally printed of course). I told her that really I want my clients to quickly see the information they need and not a card worthy of framing on the wall with graphics, decorations and the like. I find that my cards work fine and people can read them. Not much else needed.

By the way, images that can fit on business card really are not big enough to represent to the client what you are capable of. That is what the portfolio is for (i.e. or "brag book" in other terms).

in my opinion a business card is simply a point of contact not a portfolio of your work, my cards are simplistic and have the relevant info the potential client needs to know, if they want more info they can visit my site which is on the card, no offense to anyone with cards wih images on them but i dont like them i think they clutter everything, i saw the best bcard i have ever seen yesterday, it was white, with an exlamation mark on the front, the back was black and in white text in the right corner was an email address, thats it, simple, effective and one of those cards i will talk about therefore generating interest without even doing much, try to think of something catchy and simple where people will talk about it, cheapest form of advertising and so easy to get around.
