In the way photos are displayed anyway? I just profiled my monitor yesterday, and today I was looking at my site on various browsers, FireFox being primary, IE6, havent tried 7 just yet, and Safari.
And I am just wondering what it is causing my images to look different in different browsers? Especially on my mac. Between FF and Safari, Safari provides richer color in my photos. They actually look like they do in photoshop when I save them. In FF, the colors are flatter and just not as appealing.
I was just wondering why basically...

If you save as sRGB for web, the colours will look fine in almost any browser, assuming your monitor is callibrated/setup ok.

Mainly because Safari is only browser on market, which supports color profiles. All other browser just discard that info, and that's why there's difference looking at photo with Safari or with any other browser. Of course this is valid only if photo has different profile then sRGB.

What is a shame is that apple bundled their bonjour network discovery service with the windows version, bound to be exploited and a security risk.
Building for windows could also be opening a can of worms for apple

So is "Save for Web" in PS the best way to retain the color info then for posting on the net?

In cs2 convert profile to sRGB then save, either straight out or for web.
CS3 I think automatically converts to sRGB when you save for web.
It don't have to be 'save for web' so long as you convert the profile if using aRGB or other colourspace.
