I want to print my digitalized slides in 8x12 size.
I want to buy an inexpensive (but photo quality) ink jet printer and need recommendations. Can a typical ink jet printer print 8x12 if I load it with 8x12 paper? Can you actually buy 8x12 paper for such printers?
Thanks, Stan

look for a printer that takes roll paper or buy a printer that does 13x19 and cut to size. Printers that take the larger paper allow use of 11x14 paper, which works well. Buy a good ruler and a sharp utility knife. Art is often about creative solutions and the ability for bend. Choose your printer on print quality, ink quality, and the ability to accept different papers - remember you will be living with it for a long time.

Thanks for the reply. I like your solution.
I was also thinking about using European size A4, which is very close to 8x12". I already know Canon printers (i560, i860, i960) would accept it. I think I'll get a standard-size printer for 8.5" wide paper. Biggere sizes are much more expensive.
Does anybody know where I could buy (mail order) Canon photo paper in A4 size (or legal)? Canada or US locations would be best, other countries are OK too.

Maybe you could try getting proper 8x12 digital prints from a good processor. Perhaps it's the expense that would put you off if you have a lot of slides to get through.
Personally I wouldn't be bothered with the hassle of photo printers when I can get excellent digital prints at any size, but everyone has differing needs. I hand in my cheap CDs and get quality photographs back within a few days - no calibration issues, no ink or paper problems.
Good luck with your work,
:D
