I just bought a canon SD850IS to use on my vacation in New York. I'm not a professional and I don`t know much about d settings i should be using. Tonight i tried to photograph the city but the photos came out too dark. I tried changing the exposure compensation but still no good results. Any suggestions pls!!

Hi, Try increasing the ISO setting to a higher value (400, 800). That helps on my SD800IS.
Good luck.

Can you post an example? Were you trying to capture the lights, or the lit-up scene? In either case, I'd suggest using a tripod to allow a longer shutter speed. You might try the "Fireworks" setting for capturing the lights, ort "night snapshot" for the overall scene (but expect the lights in the picture to blow out their immediate surroundings with that one).
