when I want an exact phrase how do I search it?

I am used to the " blablabla bla bla"

this does not seem to work with this board.

I tried searching for "blablabla bla bla" (including the quote) and nothing showed up, so I guess search is different on the new server. I remember Pekka writing something about it but I don't remember the details, check out his "we have a new server" thread if you can find it :)

Who'll be the first to start a thread somewhere called "blablabla bla bla"?

Seriously, if you wanted to search with quotes, you could use Google and just specify to search the domain http://photography-on-the.net

There is a new search engine and it is much more accurate so you also need to be very accurate in the keywords you use.

for example

85 mm 1.8

is not the same as

85 mm f/1.8

Go to http://photography-on-the.net/forum/search.php, select "search entire posts" and use key words (without quotes)

search with quotes

You get this thread first. If there is a sentence, "search with quotes" it'll pick that first. Then it ranks them by each word hit. The search engine does not have wildcards and there is a technical issue with words ending with . which is due special aperture search ability we need on this forum.
