Ok, sorry for anyone checking this out at first post but had some technical difficulties. Had a chance to shoot the Cape Cod League All-Star Game in Warehman, MA along with the Cape Cod High School Classic the day before, also in Wareham. Put a trip around it and was a pretty good trip, but here's some from those two games.
#1 - Am I insane for liking this image? It's very basic, the guy was warming up and just happened to look over to me, the lone photographer when I snapped it.

#2 - The delivery...the light wasn't to shabby for awhile and shot this.

#3 - Another pic wondering if I'm crazy for liking it?? I wanted my portraits a certain way so I went first, then the photographers after me went 2nd/3rd so during that time I snapped a few of the players doing portraits for others. For some reason I like this.

#4 - Funky delivery...really nice kid to at the High School classic.

#5 - Photoshopped? Nope, the infield was grey and it looks like I made it B&W in the background but thats natural.

#6 - An ex-Cape Classic player threw out the first pitch to a current Cape Classic player, the ex-player now is in the Cape Code League.

#7 - Home run derby...cranking one OUT!

# 8 - This old man can block the plate, yes thats sarcasm. He was the catcher for the college level Cape Cod All-Star game at a ripe age of 17! He was able to enter college at age 16 and at 17 was younger than half the kids in the High School game!

1- I'd like to see the entire bat...or tighter.
2- Nice
3- Great exposure but the horizon (fence line) is crooked.
4- A bit tight (loosing the feet) and needs some stride room on the right.
5- Great Shot
6- Nice portrait but is that another arm reaching in from the left? Maybe clone it out.
7- The Mutts Nutz !!
8- Great intensity but a bit tight and too centered...what's he blocking? Need some room on the right to anticipate the runner coming.
All comments are just my $0.02 worth...overall, really nice stuff.

#3 looks exactly like one old pic of whats-his-name, a sepia or black and white shot of either Hank Aaron, or Willie Mays ( Can't seem to find one just now, dang).
I like the series. Thanks for sharing. :)

WOW! A HR derby at an AS game, what a concept. Although I think lawn mower races would be more interesting.
Shots look good Mike, not too bad for an amateur. ;)

1 - The entire bat to me is null, it doesn't add to the photo and just makes more dead room on the side. I did crop it out a bit.
2 - Thanks
3 - yea, I was not in good position and the pic is a bit crooked and so is the player, so made a choice either the player looks weird or the fence looks weird. Baseball fences are never going to be perfectly straight, it's the way the field is set up that you just can't get it but I did this on purpose to straighten the player a bit.
4 - yea, I tried to move back but couldn't, this would probably do better cropping it tighter.
5 - definately my favorite
6 - yea it's another arm, I couldnt figure out if the guy was trying to get in the pic or what he was doing. I had a 300 so only 2 guys were fitting. Could clone it out but it's kind of a no-no when it comes to editorial use, you don't want to do that...for prints though I would definately clone that out.
7 - Dinger
8 - I was sitting in the dugout so was a bit close, there is pretty much no crop to this on the left/right. He's blocking the plate which is under his knee, not the runner. The runner came from the inside (left side of the pic) and do have him in the pic but he dropped the ball, there is one at the end of the series though with the runner in there, ball on ground, catcher climbing over the runner to get the ball while keeping his eye on a runner going to 3rd, that was pretty sweet but liked this one a little better to not show up the catcher dropping it.

The cape is a good time, I stayed about 45 mins out and drove in cuz I can't afford to stay there, but definately a good trip. The season doesn't end for awhile so get to driving ;) Warehman I think is the farthest out but man I would of loved to go down to the ocean a bit more.
I'm a huge fan of #5.
Thanks, thats my favorite from the entire trip probably.

I think I know what you're talking about, a Hank Aaron card or photo from back in the day (but I thought it was in color and a Topps card). Not sure and didn't notice it at first, could be Mays but something tells me it's Aaron.

I tried to get them to ditch the HR derby and push a balloon around with a leaf blower but they just wouldnt listen ;) I asked one of the players if he could imagine an ASG w/o a HR derby and he didn't like the idea and an ASG HAS to have one!
Hey, how did you like shooting Wrigley? oh wait, nevermind ;) ha, I can only say that for about another week right?
LETS GO METS, LETS GO METS, LETS GO METS, LETS GO METS, LETS GO METS!
