I think after a hard day of cleaning, you might want to slip into a bath filled with this. It's good stuff!

Thanks drisley....that does look like good stuff. BTW, how much time did you spend creating and/or finding that image? :)

All I was asking for was a simple, "yes it looks clean" or "I think you could get it cleaner." :) thanks for the detergent idea though!

Be careful Blink..... They'll eat you alive! Just kidding. I'm new to this sensor cleaning thing as well. From what I've gathered, some people never clean, some clean weekly and religiously and some just clean when they feel like it. Here's the link to my original post on this subject:

I ended up with all of the info. I needed to get started. I got a rocket blower, sensorswipe, pecpads, eclipse. (you'll understand what all of this is later). Its not as tough as it all sounds at first. This was the most informative link I was given:

*lol*

Well, I took a few pictures of each side, downloaded to my computer, didnt like, so I took a few more. The I cropped and colour corrected for about 1/2 hour to get colours as close as possible. :)

I'm no expert, but even attempt #2 looks very good to me.
What method/tools did you use? I'm going to have to give it a go one of these days. When my local store FINALLY gets some eclipse/pec pads, I will have to decide on what tool to use (ie, spatula, etc).

Any tips?

drisley: lol....I was told by someone else on here that #2 looked worse than the original! Oh well. I'm happy with my final attempt for now. Maybe I'll give it another go tomorrow just to get those last few bits of crap off! :)

My advice would be: just get the stuff and do it. Its not that hard. I think the reason I'm having such a hard time getting those difficult spots off is because I waited 6 months to clean the sensor at all. I think its better to do it every couple of weeks, so those tough spots don't get so stuck-on!

I would definitely order the sensorswipe:

This guy was super-nice with quick shipping and good methodology I thought. Many thanks to him!

Ooops, I'm sorry. I meant picture#2 which is attempt#1.

I've had my camera for 6 months, and I havent cleaned it either. Might be time.

Regarding the SensorSwipe, I checked his site all over, and I cant seem to find where you order the sensorswipe. I saw it once before.

BTW, what method do most use to clean that pesky viewfinder?

I'm not sure where it is exactly, but I just read through the entire site....each step that he wrote and toward the end there was a link to purchase the sensorswipe and also a link for a place that he recommends buying the pecpads and eclipse.

I just use the rocketblower to blow out the view finder.....I'm not nearly as obsessive about that though! :)
