I just picked up the Lexar Pro 80X 512 meg CF card yesturday for $139. Its so much faster than the Sandisk card that I was currently running. Speed transfer to the PC via PCMCIA card is relatively slow. Any suggestions. The PC is a 1Ghz Sony with 256 megs of RAM.

try to use a USB2.0 or even firewire card reader(if supported), then u'll see the difference.

How many MB/s do these Lexar cards transfer at "80X"?
EDIT: nevermind I found it. it's 12MB/s. I wonder if the extra 2MB/s over the Sandisk ultra2 is worth the extra $45. Hmmm.....

I'm running a laptop with no USB2.0 Support. I've heard of PCMCIA USB2.0 hubs :)

I use a Sandisk 8-in-1 USB2.0 card reader at home and when i'm on the move, i use Sandisk Ultra PC card adapter for CF to connect to my laptop. It works great, pretty fast, too. Not so as USB2.0, but certainly does a better job then normal 16bit ones. Than again, no matter how fast your card reader goes, it's down to your cards.

Did'nt Lexar supply you with one of it's "jumpshot" card readers? I received one with each one of the Lexar 40x cards I purchased and they work great.
