I like them both, but the ruffled look is the winner. Nice comp, focus and colour. As always...great work.

I guess it shows more action and the light is more muted, but it dulled the color of the bird. I really appreciate the input as I didn't see it that way.:cool:

Very nice. The ones up here are getting quite bold and they are all over the place. Are you noticing that down there? I got within 20 feet of a pair fishing today and even though they saw me, they just kept fishing. :)

They come within 5 feet here and have very little fear. I've taken Head shots full frame with Manuel Focus and still had to back up.

OK 3 for picture 2 It doesn't bother me, but it does surprise me and that is the great part of this Forum I get a perspective of others on what is liked. Those that just look and move on without giving their opinion are not helping the Poster.

Both are great shots, nice and sharp with great detail and I really like the compositions in both photos...I was expecting to see a woodpecker however ;-) :-)
