2008 Subaru WRX stopped by VIP Garage

Dude that thing is disgusting. I was hoping they were gonna trash that design. It looks like something thats supposed to compete with the Honda Fit.

Hmmm, it still hasn't grown on me yet. I guess I need to reserve judgment until I see one in person, but based on the pics though, I see absolutely no reason to get rid of my 02 WRX.

I agree. Although I'd say this car looks better in person and I think it has better overall fit and finish than the previous generation Impreza, the body style doesn't do anything for me. I think the problem is that it's too tame and Subaru decided to go mainstream. I'd even go so far as saying they gave the WRX the "Bob Rock MetallicA treatment." I'm hoping that the STi retains the WRC cues, like the overpronounced fender flares, personal pizza sized foglights (I doubt it because that ended after '03), massive hood scoop, roof vents, etc).

WOW, I was wondering how this design would be received over in the States.

im not going to say its the worlds ugliest car but its up there in those ranks

subaru has lost the spirit of the wrx. what is that, a city car? a mazda 3? what happened to the rally look?

lets all laugh at those who decide to buy one of these and try to look "cool" in it.

The 1st pic is nice, but yeah, the new Subarus are real difficult to look at without thinking it's a Kia. Very sad to see this happen to them.

I still can't get over the plastic intake manifold.

Nice shots though, I do like them.

I've heard that pictures don't do it justice, that it is much more appealing in person...or so thats what I heard from those who saw it at the Subaru Challenge.
I'm personally waiting until the STi is debuted...
I like hatches though... maybe this will grow on me.
I do agree... the Evo X is gorgeous and sexy. Even the baseline Lancers look good.

Looks like Subaru will be the next motor company to suffer a serious lack of funds due to the new model not selling, as I, like many others will not upgrade to this!:shock: and whoever designed this Honda lookalike needs shooting, and very soon..................>:(

That's a bad looking car ( good pics but! ) I owned an MY00 ( 2000 model WRX ) which was the last of the 'old' shape ( probably defined as 'boxy' in today's standards ), but it was all downhill after that - this is worse again....

Ahh they really stuffed up the look of this car didn't they, subaru's stylers have been going downhill lately, sad since cars like the current liberty are stunning.

The GC8 version of the WRX is a dream car for me. In the mean time I'll keep this one though:

well if youre gonna spend your hard-earned money on a car to get you from a to b, you'd at least want something that looks somewhat decent :lol:
