will it fire properly? I assume it will, but I just want to make sure. There is one for sale that I am buying. I already have one made for canon, and I'd like to have a second.
thanks

I dunno. Wasn't there an issue with the Sigmas not firing if they didn't have all their pins occupied?

In M mode? Very doubtful. Every flash in M mode just "fires".

Yep, in M mode. You'll have to ask curtis or someone else who has one to be sure, but I've heard that they can be a real pain to try and use off-camera with hot-shoe adapters.

The Super Sigma works nicely off camera, and is easy to use. But, the settings to get it to work off camera are very odd.
You do not want "M" mode to get a Super Sigma to work properly off camera.
Read this short "tip" I wrote for very specific instructions on getting manual function to work off camera on a Super Sigma.

Cosworth,
Very strangely the Super Sigma will not fire in manual mode when set to manual mode, if the flash is off the dedicated Canon pins.
You have to set the Super Sigma to "optical slave mode" to use it off camera in manual mode, even if you are not actually using the optical slave.
A very odd user interface indeed.

I use my sigma super off camera right now, have been for over a couple months. It takes some practice with proper settings, but hey, pretty much everything does. I pretty much knew the answer before I posted, I just wanted to make sure because of the whole Canon and Nikon mix.
You have to put them in "C0" mode
I got both flashes for 150 bucks. Thats cheaper than one 580EX. They are pretty powerful too.
thanks everyone
