auto focus ?? tape method

I can't remember where I saw a great description of this, but it described a method to tape over some pins on the back of lens so that you can us auto focus with a 1.4X or 2.0X canon converter. Does anyone have any info. on this??

Yep.. this is the method most often used.. those three pins. I have found however that you get the same results taping just the left most pin in that diagram.

This is NOT a guaranteed fix.. the physical limitations that make AF operation at small apertures still exists.. and thus. success with the tape trick is hit or miss...

My siggestion is this.. try it.. if it works 100%.. lucky you!

BUT If it "sort of " works.. and seems at all odd.. then STOP now bbefore you burn out a focus motor :)

Mark me as cautious. I prefer to stop something before I ever start burning it out.
