I ordered my D60 through Cord Camera in the Cleveland, Ohio area during the first week of April, and still nothing yet. Cord says that their main location in Columbus, Ohio had got a few in, but that was it. I am going on 3 months now. Has anyone had any better luck with any of the online retailers? I would rather not get this camera online, but I am getting really tired of waiting. I just got back from a vacation in Hawaii where I had to use a borrowed Olympus Point and shoot digital camera because I had no D60 to take with me. Thanks!

I'm on the wait list for Dodd's in Cleveland and they haven't received a D60 the entire month of June. I'm also on the list at Loomis Camera and they have yet to receive their first D60. I cancelled an on line order after 7 weeks of waiting and they also have yet to receive their first unit. How long does it take Canon to get their act together?

I would stop waiting for a camera store to get one (unless looking and touching before purchase are necessary) and buy mail order. I have 3 friends and myself that all have gotten there D60's 2 from PC Connection and 1 from B&H, and 1 from Ritz. All were on order less than 30 days.

I ended up ordering a d60 through West Photo out of Minneapolis due to dissatisfaction with the customer service at a few online places. Placed my order on the 11th of June, and received a phone call on June 25th saying that the camera was in. The salesmen was extremely friendly and the price was not marked up in comparison to online pricing.

When I called I was basically told that cash is king around there and that a large deposit would bump a person up in line because they would be sure that you were serious about actually buying it. So I put down $500 and was able to get one from their next shipment. All online stores said at least 4 - 6 weeks.. some saying 60 - 90 days.

I would highly reccommend these guys. www.westphoto.com.

*** Charging my battery! ***

My D60 arrived at Cord Camera this morning. Total pre-order wait time was about 10 weeks. From what I was told, I was 4th on the store waiting list. Not sure how many people were behind me. I am pretty happy now, but would have been a lot happier 5 weeks ago to have it with me for my trip to Hawaii. I did however have a borrowed Olympus D-490 point and shoot that I took with me that did pretty well for an older 2.1 megapixel digital camera. Those pictures are at www.wearsch.com/hawaii if anyone would like to see them. I had over 100 prints made from these digital pictures, and I was really excited with how clear they came out. Now I am looking forward to see how the D60's 6.3 megapixel shots look.

I took the new D60 to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Sunday and shot about 100 pictures. The day was overcast and very hot (about 90 degrees Farenheit). When the sun did come out, the animals tended to stay in the shade, making it not a great day for pictures. I think I did get a few shots, but I have a lot to learn with this camera. I was about to take all 100 pictures and transfer them back to my computer without draining the battery, which I found to be very encouraging. The zoo pictures are at www.wearsch.com if anyone would like to see them.
