The time is upon us when the shorebird migration back to the south has begun. It is an exciting time for us as we don't normally have these guys (a few exceptions of course) around for a long time. Wayne and I headed out to try and spot some. These are some of the first to trickle through, with a explosion of migrators to arrive in the next few weeks. Can't wait to see what surprises will pass through this year...

Dan, these are all so nice I can't pick a for sure favorite, but I'm going to go with the first one. I couldn't scroll past that shot for the longest time. Just beautiful.
I hope to see some of these when they come through here. Seems awful soon though.

Beautiful shots, nice and sharp with great light and comps! I especially like the 1st one for the glorious b/g and setting but also the 3rd Wilson's Phalarope for that wonderful reflection, all great shots though.:-)

Dan, The first has it all: DOF, BG and forground along with a sweet pose on a sharp bird.

Excellent series here Dan with wonderful colors. The colors in image #3 are superb but that first shot for the pose, BG/colors and in focus running water in the foreground make it my favourite here. Excellent!!

Superb quality on these images..I; like Gary am partial to your first image for colour; BG; and the way the water drops off in the foreground, and the low angle, & pose.
Your Juvenile Least Sandpiper #4 is excellent as well; as are the others.
Well done !

Excellent series here with all images demonstrating sharp focus, good BG, and excellent composition. There is something about the combination of colours in #1 that makes it my pick.

Thanks guys! The funny thing is that I had forgotten that I took this shot (the only one I took of the Yellowlegs) until I downloaded the shots into my computer!?!
