Ok with the vertical grip http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=getItemDetail&Q=&sku=208567&is=REG &si=feat#goto_itemInfo put on a 10D is there a tripod socket at the bottom of the battary grip? What controls are on the battary grip? I dont have access to one to look at.

I purchased a gret tripod system from Bogden with the 3039 super pro head but when I tilt the camer loose my vertical movement in the head. If the battary grip has a tripod socket to hoot it to a tripod, this would solve my problem.

yes it has tripod mount - located centrally under lense there is also a strap connector for hand grip

on front of big ed:
-shutter release button
-on/off switch (turns on or off the controls on the grip - *not* turns on or off the camera
-wheel - like wheel near normal shutter release, not dial on back

on back:
-exposure button '*'
-af point selector

sorry for not rmemebering the 'official names' of the controls, but it's like 1:30 in the morning and i had a bit too much bundy earlier...
